hurricanes
campus closed early yesterday (1:00pm). and today was cancelled.
yay! no class 'til thursday.
slightly annoyed that i spent the weekend working on lab assignments for a class that was cancelled.
oh well.
today was not as fun as i thought it would be. father was off work as well. so spent most of the day cleaning. not too bad since today was also wow maintenance. so it was not like i could play wow. f course, when it was back up, i was too interested in something else to go on.
decided to finish watching buffy, season 7. bought it on wal-mart sale before term started. stopped half-way bc i got too "emotionally involved" with spike's personal suffering. so i stopped.
finishing it now. not as bad, once all the spike torture was finally out of the way. i swear, he gets captured, tortured, and humiliated every season: angelus, the initiative, glorificus, buffy, the first. the list just goes on and on. spike is my favorite character, the only reason why i ever decided to watch this series (bc angel was not doing it for me). spike and dru. spike and angelus. spike in any position i can imagine him in. but buffy...
::sigh:: loving buffy neuters men and turns them into weepy pussies.
i want my vampires to be vampires. hardcore and thorough. aggressive and posessive. although i am definitely an angelus/spike fan, spike and drusilla was art. until buffy stepped into the picture.
gah. i hate buffy. i suppose i would like her more, if she did not cripple everyone in proximity to her.
anyway. back to the hurricanes.
um. not bad at all. inconvenient. the gas stations got swamped about the time i needed to go get gas. i am still on the same tank i filled before term started. close to the last quarter. annoying, but not too bad. not much driving since class is either cancelled or on holiday.
(slightly) out of food. kept meaning to go to the grocery store. now that there is time, all the stores are closed.
anyway.

school and other activities
doing really well in my classes. which unfortunately, gives me no reason to improve my study habits. which unfortuneately, are horrendous and i would not suggest anyone study the way i do. although, the study habits that i aspire to are definitely worth atttempting.
i have 3 lab activities online. definitely need to do them today or i will end up rushing through them on sunday.
need to finish cleaning my room.
had an idea of making a photo/lego/lesson book. basically, reviewing the harder concepts of biology through creating models out of legos and adding a little story (and dialogue) to keep it interesting. thinking of calling it my "this isn't potions" lesson plan. lol. starring our beloved (lego) professor snape and his assistant (lego) mr. malfoy. although his first lesson plan was on the activation pump, his first "model" lesson shall be on meiosis (guest starring our favorite serpent, the One-Eyed Trouser Snake). lol. yes, it makes sense. and it makes me giggle. anyway. plan on using my legos to go through, at least, mitosis, meiosis, and genetics. definitely easier explained with model kits.
i think every student taking science courses should have their very own lego sets.

return of glass guy
he showed up the other day (morning) to finally finish up the table. he replaced the windows and doors last time. was not sure whether he forgot about detailing the table or if he was going to come back later. i do believe this is the last we will see of him. hopefully.
got a text from yuki. apparently, the most recent place the "punk kids" vandalized was by the mall where some (no longer as close) family friends live. he wanted to know if the cops have any leads. to my knowledge, there have been no follow-ups. still trying to decide if it was a hate crime or gangs. this is not the first time my filipino household has been vandalized (eggs, glass bottles, and rocks) or stolen from (full gas can, father's bike, and various "outside" shoes). of course, all this has been happening since the hurricanes tore through. so while the missing gas can and shoes were forgiveable slights, but the stolen bike was the reason we built a fence to close up our property from thieving desperate hands that refused to understand that although we have been desperte over finances as well, we never stooped to stealing from our neighbors.
the thieving was understandable. not always forgiveable, but understandable. the blatant vandalism is unforgiveable. and both, regrettably, are difficult to punish with no witnesses. so the police have nowhere to go. and the insurance companies and glass guys (who never show up on time)can make a profit bc somewhere, out there, very bad parenting is leading to punk kids committing random acts of attention-seeking behavior.
if it had been a hate crime, then it would be easier for the police to pursue.
if it had been gang warfare (yes; there has been some territory fighting in the past), than it would be easier to pursue.
but punk kids? no motive bc i is random. no witnesses, either. the only pattern is the timing: between saturday night and sunday morning (a great surprise before church ::sarcasm::). so we have a police car patrolling about that time. but he is only going to do it for a limited time. and once he is gone, i imagine it will start back up again.

spring registration
i stayed up yesterday perfecting my schedule. have to take this math course that has only one class, at 9am, 3 days a week. so of course, all my other required courses had to be planned around that. not as easy as i had hoped. but i do manage to make a somewhat awkward, but workable, schedule.
i wake up at 5am today to register my classes (registration opened at 12:01am, but fell asleep). and i find out that my original schedule is fucked. one, the math course i needed requires special permission bc it is a combined class (pre cal-alg/trig). and the general chemistry i needed, requires me to to take introduction to chemistry first. one would assume that general meant first part, but apparently i missed introduction. so yes, that was two classes and one lab (half my schedule) that i had to redo. so then i just went with random classes that were at the campus closest to my home and left it for later.
came home straight after class to work on my schedule. after an hour of tweaking, i think i finally managed something workable. my classes will be:
> anatomy & physiology II (3)
> anatomy & physiology II lab (1)
> introduction to chemistry (3)
> introduction to chemistry lab (1)
> pre-calculus algebra (3)
> electronic information access (1)3 classes + 2 labs + 1 half-term course = 12 hours
not too bad. but definitely not fun. i think i might have to freeze my wow account next term.

text messages
i text the strangest things. of course, the texts that get sent to me are just as strange.
---
yuki: do you think carl has a square penis?
kamp: i've never thought about the shape of his penis. but since his physique tends toward angles, it stands to reason that he would have a square appendage.
---
and yes, this is a rather normal text conversation.
